PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board is charged with reviewing and issuing decisions on site plans, land divisions, special use permits, and for conducting environmental reviews and making determinations on the significance of the above listed application requests, per NY State Environmental Quality Review Act. The Planning Board also advises the Town Board on proposed new development districts, rezoning requests, amendments to the Comprehensive Plan and zoning code, and may review and provide comments on all variance applications to the Board of Zoning Appeals for projects that would be subject to Planning Board review and approval if the variance is granted.
 
The Planning Board's regularly scheduled meetings are on the first and third Tuesday of each month starting at 7:00 p.m.
Meetings are held at Ulysses Town Hall, 10 Elm Street, Trumansburg, New York, and the public may join in person or via Zoom at:

The Planning Board consists of seven members appointed by the Town Board, 5 regular and 2 alternates.

Members are required to be a resident of the Town, receive a small annual stipend, and the terms served are staggered: 5-years for regular members and 1 year for alternates, Chairs are appointed annually.
Knowledge of the current local zoning code, application of municipal law and/or other rules and regulations is helpful but not required.
Letters of Interest to serve as a member of the Planning Board, along with a complete application, may be sent to the Town Clerk.
