YOUTH EMPLOYMENT

The Town of Ulysses is now accepting applications for the Summer 2023 Youth Employment Program!

This program is for Trumansburg/Ulysses area teens age 14+ who are first time job seekers. If hired, you will earn NYS minimum wage doing part-time work for one of the local businesses or organizations partnering with the Town for this program. Partners include Taughannock State Park, the Trumansburg Library, Trumansburg Village Office, Tburg Summer Rec, Wide Awake Bakery, Sweet Land Organic Farm, and more.

If you’d like to participate, please complete the application, as well as the parental consent form by May 20. The program coordinator will contact you to schedule a brief initial interview in late May or early June, (to ask a few questions and learn more about your interests), and with parent/guardian permission (if you’re under 18), may forward your information to employers who will then interview and select candidates for the job or jobs they have available. If hired, you may begin work once you have submitted the necessary paperwork and attended an orientation session organized by the Town of Ulysses in late June or early July. You’ll have support along the way from the Youth Employment Coordinator and/or the school student services office.

Unfortunately, there may not be enough jobs available for all applicants, so filling out the application does not guarantee a job. We intend to maintain a wait-list for next summer, if we are unable to place you this year.

Contact Youth Employment Program Coordinator Rachel Kennedy at rkennedy@townofulyssesny.gov with questions.
